Dunbar Cricket Club Squad 2010

Robert Duff - Another of the mainstays at DCC, Rob has once again taken on the captaincy for 2010. A solid middle order batsman, Rob is also a colossal fielder. Generally mid-off, often silly Rob has taken his fair share of knocks preventing the opposition reaching the outfield. A master swing bowler Rob will undoubtedly take his fair share of wickets if he decides to bring himself on!

Scott Callow - Scott is one of the main driving forces behind the club, an original founder member and former team captain he is relied upon not only on the field of play but also behind the scenes. Opening batsman, Scott was Div.8 Top runs scorer in 2009 and joint DCC player of the year in 2007and has laid many a foundation for impressive victories. Scott is also useful at bowling too, one of the few that can get some turn out of the Hallhill synthetic surface.

Kenneth Amabilino - Part of the founder members team Ken has played in every one of Dunbar CC's seasons. A talented tail order batsman and 'gazelle' like slip fielder Ken will be looking for more opportunities with the bat during the 2010 season to showcase his wide variety of shots and increase his batting average.
Years with DCC: Founder member 2001 - Current Club Chairman.
Highest score for the club 30 not out(retired).
Also heavily involved with coaching kids better than himself ( & that's the primary ones!)
Responsible for several successful sports awards funding applications including the new nets at Dunbar Grammar School.

Chris Greco - Most improved player for 2008, Chris is a formidable batsman and can score runs for fun. Batting anywhere from 3 to 7 Chris can always be relied upon to increase the run rate. Also handy with the ball Chris's meduim pace swing has deceived many batsman. Chris is 4th choice wicket keeper for the team!!

Robbie Miller
- Another up and coming young cricketer with bags of energy and potential. Primarily a bowler for the side, Rob can also bat a bit too. A medium paced bowler converted to leg spin, Rob took his first senior wicket in 2008 and then proceeded to take a 5 wicket haul (including a hatrick) vs Edinburgh South with no doubt, many more impressive displays to come. With more experience and confidence Rob will certainly score a fair number of runs, committed in the field he has also taken a number of fine catches over the seasons.

Ian Wanless - Club Skipper for the promotion winning 2009 season, a high scoring opening batsman for Dunbar, Ian topped the ESCA Div.8 Batting stats in 2004 and 2008. A keen eye and "safe" hands, Wannells has taken his fair share of boundary catches. Ian also works hard behind the scenes. Ian is also known for his excellent repetoir of "rubbish" jokes

Steve Vance - Steve joined DCC in 2007 and as one of the opening bowlers for the side his "electric" medium pace often limits the opposing openers to low scores.  A middle order batsmen, Steve will be looking for more opportunities with the bat to try and increase his seasonal average.

Nigel Binnie - Nigel joined DCC in 2010 and as one of the opening batsmen the club often rely on his patience and score building as a platfrom to go on and win games. Having played in the top division Nigel is well on his way to becoming the highest scorer in the division for 2010. Wicket keeper for the club, Nigel has proved a real asset in his first year with Dunbar.

Dave HillYouth Development Coach and a founder member of the club in 2001, Dave has the unrivalled honour of taking Dunbar's first ever wicket. A vigourous swinger - with the ball, Dave often opens the bowling but can be used at any stage during the proceedings. Dave is hugely influential when it comes to bringing on Dunbar's next generation of keen cricketers by taking the kids coaching sessions throughout the summer. The perennial number 11, Dave rarely gets the chance to show his prowess / potential with the bat.

Dave is also an avid supporter of Wigan Warriors, Lancashire CCC & Liverpool FC.

Duncan Tossell - An extremely talented cricketer, batting left-handed and bowling right-armed. A top order batsman for the team Duncan can always be relied upon to steady the ship & the run-rate! A medium to fast pacer with the ball Duncan has also taken many an important wicket. When not playing for Dunbar, Duncan also captains the Stirling University side.

Ian Paterson - Ian has been a valuable member of the club for many years. Primarily as wicket keeper for the team Ian regularly takes spectacular catches and with his keen eye and lightening quick reactions he has been rewarded with a number of excellent stumpings. A stalwart with the bat Ian rarely gives his wicket up cheaply and always adds respectable scores when given the opportunity.

Andrew Crawford - Another popular member at DCC, Andrew has been involved with DCC for a couple of years. Andrew had a solid start to 2009 and was on the wrong end of a few dodgy decisions. A middle order batsman capable of scoring runs, Andy also a very competent bowler and will be a vital cog in Dunbars 2010 bowling attack. Handy in the field with lightening quick reactions, Andrew has taken many spectacular catches.

David Dickinson - Another  talented all-round cricketer, Dave's quick opening bowling regularly sends stumps flying. A right arm with some pace, Dave will add a real edge to Dunbar's opening attack this season. A keen batman too, Dave comes in at number 3 or there abouts capable, with a bit of luck of scoring a fare number of runs for the club this season.

Ross Charlton - An extremely talented young cricketer with enormous potential. Ross is a regular bowler for the team and strong opener or middle order batsman with a wide variety of excellent shots. A medium paced bowler with a fair bit of swing, Ross has taken a number of important wickets over the two seasons that he has played. Ross certainly has a bright cricketing future ahead of him.

Andrew Callow - Another extremely talented youngster with enormous potential. Andrew is becoming a promising bowler for the team and strong tail-end batsman with a wide variety of excellent shots. A medium paced bowler with a fair bit of swing, Andrew will no doubt, given the opportunity, take a number of important wickets in seasons to come. Andrew certainly has a bright cricketing future ahead of him.
